Muscle Aches: Muscle pain or muscle aches are extremely common. When you strain your body from everyday activities, your muscles make and release inflammatory chemicals which cause soreness. The essential oils that work well for muscle aches are Lavender, Rosemary and Vetiver. You can add 4-5 drops of oil in a tablespoon of carrier oil and massage.

Headache: A headache is a pain arising from the head or upper neck of the body and there can be many reasons for it. The oils that help to treat headaches are Basil and Lavender. Mix with carrier oil and rub on the head. Basil is best when inhaled.

Toothache: A toothache is a pain in or around a tooth caused by tooth decay, tooth fracture, infected gums, a damaged filling or repetitive motions like chewing gum or grinding teeth. You can use clove essential oil to get relieve from toothache. Bite on a clove or rinse mouth with Clove essential oil.

Sore Throat: A sore throat involves pain, itchiness or irritation of the throat. Throat pain is the primary symptom of a sore throat. It can be caused as a result of viral or bacterial infection. Lemon and Clove essential oils are the best to relieve this pain. Take a glass of warm water and add some alum, 1-2 drops of lemon and clove essential oils, and gargle.

Menstrual Cramps: Some pain, cramping and discomfort is often experienced during menstrual periods. To relieve pain, you may use a heating pad on your pelvic area or back, massaging the abdomen, taking a warm bath, regular exercise and eating light meals. The essential oils of Lavender and Rose can help reduce menstrual cramps. You can apply warm compresses of Lavender and rose essential oils to feel comfort from the cramps.

Rheumatoid Arthritis or Joint Pains: Rheumatoid Arthritis is an autoimmune disorder that causes your body’s immune system to attack your joints. It causes inflammation, pain, and swelling. The essential oils that help relieve pain are Eucalyptus and Ginger. Mix a few drops of Ginger or eucalyptus essential oil with carrier oil and apply topically on the affected area.
