Dry skin occurs when your skin loses its moisture level and gets dehydrated. Dry skin is common for all age groups, it can happen at any age and multiple reasons can cause skin dryness which eventually leads to dull and dead skin. 

The skin around the eyes is thin and sensitive which easily gets affected. Improper sleep, inadequate diet, medication, illness, not taking care properly, using wrong cosmetics, sun damage or insufficient moisturisation etc, are some of the factors that can lead to dry and dull skin around the eyes. 

The dry skin around the eyes can gradually lead to dark circles, crow's feet, wrinkles, and skin irritations. The dry skin around the eyes may feel stretchy and patchy, it can be rough, peeling, and itching. 

Below are some of the ways which can help you to keep the skin nourished and hydrated around the eyes:

  • Almond Oil -It is a cold-pressed, natural Almond vegetable oil, extracted from Almond seeds. It helps in maintaining the moisture levels of your skin. It gets absorbed quickly without blocking pores. It serves as an effective moisturisers for dry and sensitive skin. Take 4 to 5 drops of oils and gently massage with your ring fingertips on the skin around the eyes.

  • Jojoba Oil- It is an excellent moisturiser that is easily absorbed into the skin. It helps balance the sebum level in the skin by keeping it hydrated always. It gives deep nourishment to the skin, whereas its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties help soothe and heal the skin leaving it well moisturiser and supple. Take 4 to 5 drops of oils and gently massage with your ring fingertips on the skin around the eyes.

  • Aloe Vera Gel -Aloe vera gel has high vitamins and antioxidants and is also rich in anti-inflammatory properties that help ease the skin and keep it nourished. Freshly extracted aloe vera gel gives the maximum benefits when used for skin and hair. Applying aloe vera gel on the skin around the eyes can also relieve redness or swelling. Take a small quantity of aloe vera gel using fingertips gently apply it to the affected area and leave overnight. Avoid rubbing your eyes when the gel is applied.

  • Under Eye Cream -It is enriched with Goji berry fruit extracts that help nourish and minimise wrinkles. The Olive butter oil together with rice bran oil repair and brighten the skin with Vitamin C, around the eyes. It leaves the skin moisturised, hydrated, and fresh and also aids in tightening the skin. Apply around the eyes and massage gently with the tip of the ring finger. Use it every morning and night. Use the ring finger for application and massage.

  • Yogurt & Honey Pack -Yogurt is rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce puffiness, remove dead skin, and can stimulate collagen. Honey has high hydrating and moisturising properties. Take one teaspoon of yogurt and one teaspoon of honey and mix well. Take a flat small brush and ask someone to apply it around the eyes. Keep the eyes closed to avoid it getting in. Leave it for 10 minutes and rinse off.

  • Healthy Diet, Sufficient Water & Adequate Sleep -Healthy diet, sufficient water intake, and proper sleep, three are very primary requirements to keep your skin and yourself healthy. A healthy diet promotes and makes healthy skin cells, whereas a hydrated body leads to hydrated and nourished skin by maintaining a healthy sebum level. When it comes to the skin around the eyes improper and inadequate sleep is one of the major reasons causing dark circles, dry skin, or dullness. Take sufficient sleep of 8 hours every night.
