Do you need a Moisturizer for Oily Skin?

Moisturising the skin can prevent it from various skin problems, such as aging, extreme dryness, allergic reactions, pigmentation, blemishes, etc. It is one of the most substantial and required steps for the skincare regime. Even oily or acne-prone skin needs moisturisation. Moisturising the skin keeps it youthful and hydrated. 

Many people often get confused about the moisturization of oily skin. Oily skin results from the secretion of excessive sebum, whereas skin moisturization is hydrating the skin within. There are three types of moisturisers, such as occlusive, emollients, and humectant moisturisers. Humectant moisturisers are best suitable for oily skin. These moisturisers maintain the water level within the skin and prevent the clogging of pores. It also helps to prevent frequent breakouts and skin irritation. 

Here are a few moisturisers for oily skin to keep it hydrated and nourished:

  • Milk - Take 2 tablespoons of raw milk and 1 cotton ball. Dip a cotton ball into it and gently apply it all over your face and neck. Leave it for 10 minutes and rinse off with water. Avoid using any face wash or soap after it. Milk helps the skin to restore its nourishment and also brightens the skin. It moisturises, hydrates and gives the skin its required nutrients.

  • Aloe Vera - For oily skin, aloe vera proves to be a blessing to treat inflammations and keep the skin hydrated. Aloe vera gel is highly rich in water content that gives instant hydration and moisturisation to the skin. Take 2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel and apply it all over the face and neck. Leave it overnight or leave it for 20 to 30 minutes and rinse off with water. It reduces inflammation and hydrates the skin within without clogging of pores.

  • Honey - This anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory humectant moisturiser is a substantial source of hydration and moisturisation for the skin. Take 1 tablespoon of honey and apply it all over the face and leave it for 10 minutes. You can also apply it over your lips to keep them moisturised. Rinse off with lukewarm water. Honey helps in the skin's nourishment and keeps it glowing. Its antiseptic properties may aid in reducing inflammation and acne breakouts.
