Top 10 Essential Oils to Always Have at Home

Our home is a place where we grow up through diverse experiences. It is a place where we laugh, cry, spend life, gather the biggest memories of life. Our home needs special care for it. Knowingly or unknowingly, we use artificial chemically treated home care products such as floor cleaners, air fresheners, mosquito repellents, insects’ repellent, etc.

Aromatherapy is the perfect substitute for every chemically treated product. With aromatherapy, you can protect your home sweet home from any harsh damage and spread positive vibes all around. Essential Oils are antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal and antiseptic that keep the homely vibes energised and rejuvenated.

Following are some of the essential oils by Blossom Kochhar Aroma Magic that you can add to your daily home care regime:

  1. Lemon Essential Oil - To remove oil or grease spots, chewing gums, crayon and pen marks, etc Lemon Essential Oil can be used. It can also be used to sterilize kitchen counters and it works as a great disinfectant. Take one cup of water and add a few drops of lemon essential oil to it. Mix well and store it in a spray bottle. 

  2. Eucalyptus Essential Oil - To keep the baby's room clean, germ-free and to prevent ailments such as cold and flu, mix 2 to 3 drops of eucalyptus essential oil in water and clean the surface of the baby's room. During flu season, add 2 to 3 drops into your diffuser and burn the flu away.

  3. Tea Tree Essential Oil - To sterilize kitchen towels while washing them or during the last rinse, put 7 to 8 drops of tea tree essential oil to half bucket water and soak kitchen towels into it for 15 to 20 minutes.
     
  4. Lemongrass Essential Oil - To clean slabs, surfaces, platform, sink area, wall tiles, fridge, ovens, cupboards, etc, prepare lemongrass spritz. Take 250 ml to 300 ml of water and add 7 to 8 drops of lemongrass essential oil to it. Mix well and store it in a spray bottle. Use it for cleaning whenever required.

  5. Rosemary Essential Oil - To prevent or stop cockroaches, rosemary essential oil can be used. Put a few drops of rosemary essential oil into the sink or sewer holes or breeding areas of cockroaches.

  6. Lavender Essential Oil - To keep your clothes clean and fresh, put a few drops of lavender essential oil on cotton balls and keep them in your cupboard on your clothes. To prevent the fungus and deodorize the shoes cotton balls dipped in tea tree essential oil can also be kept under shoes.

  7. Peppermint Essential Oil - To keep the mice and insects at bay, peppermint essential oil is best suitable. Take a few cotton balls and put 2 to 3 drops of peppermint essential oil onto every cotton ball. Put them under the sink, near the open windows, kitchen or bathroom drains to keep mice and insects away. 

  8. Sandalwood/Ylang Ylang/Lavender Essential Oil - To keep the air fresh and aromatic, you can use a blend of these oils or any of them. Add 4 to 5 drops of it into a diffuser or you can make a spritz of it and can spray it all over in the room. 

  9. Geranium and Bergamot Essential Oil - To keep your living room relaxing and positive. Sprinkle some blend of geranium and bergamot essential oil onto the curtains and upholstery.

  10. Neroli Essential Oil - Neroli essential oil gives floral fragrance and acts as an exotic fragrance. If you want to feel exotic or looking for any night fragrance, try neroli essential oil. Sprinkle it around the corners of your bed or use it as a spritz.
